Basketball Game Preview: Peetz Bulldogs vs. Cheraw Wolverines

The Peetz Bulldogs will challenge the Cheraw Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Peetz picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They put the hurt on Lone Star with a sharp 67-41 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Longhorns: they've now won four in a row.

Peetz found their leader in sophomore Connor Schumacher, who shot 48% from the field to rack up 22 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Schumacher a new career-high in blocks (four). Dylan Wagner was another key player, putting up seven points along with 13 rebounds and six assists.

Peetz was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They are 17-2 when they've passed the ball that well.

Meanwhile, Cheraw waltzed into their game on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victor by a 47-23 margin over the Eagles. The Wolverines pushed the score to 36-15 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles had little chance of recovering from.

Cheraw's win came from a few key players Peetz will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Joseph Reece, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Herman, who posted nine points and four steals.

Cheraw's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Peetz, their win bumped their record up to 17-6.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Peetz has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.5 rebounds per game.
