Soccer Recap: Providence Catholic Comes Up Short

Providence Catholic's game on Thursday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the Fenwick Friars by a score of 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for Providence Catholic in their meetings with Fenwick: they've now lost six in a row.

Providence Catholic's goal came courtesy of Jovanny Gonzalez, who's now up to 17 this season.

Providence Catholic's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1-1 and their overall record down to 10-6-3. As for Fenwick, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5-1 record this season.

Providence Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 3-3 draw against Brother Rice on the 11th. As for Fenwick, they will take on Maine East at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
