Football Game Preview: Provo Bulldogs vs. Hurricane Tigers + Official Tickets

The Provo Bulldogs will take on the Hurricane Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Provo is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Salem Hills 45-6. The Bulldogs have beaten the Skyhawks the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Skyhawks has come to flipping the script.

Malik Filimoe'Atu was his usual excellent self, rushing for 171 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also picking up 66 receiving yards. Those 171 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Brexton Hunter got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Provo was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 254 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Provo's defense and their three sacks. Griffin Demartini was especially locked on to Salem Hills' QB and sacked him twice. Hunter got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Hurricane was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Highland 43-7. With the Tigers ahead 23-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Hurricane didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Bradley Rose and Nathan Swapp.

Provo's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Hurricane, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Provo has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 387.3 total yards per game. However, it's not like Hurricane struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 427.4 total yards.
