Softball Game Preview: Grandville Bulldogs vs. Jenison Wildcats

The Grandville Bulldogs are taking a road trip to square off against the Jenison Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Grandville got the win against East Kentwood by a conclusive 9-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, Jenison came tearing into Thursday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Sailors by a score of 7-3.

Jenison's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Grandville, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11-1.

Grandville came up short against Jenison in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 10-5. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
