Recap: Perry Maroons vs. Alva Goldbugs
The Perry Maroons have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 55-51 loss to they on Saturday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for them in their matchups with Alva: they've now lost five in a row.
It was another big night for Lakin Gaddy, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals for Alva. Another player making a difference was Jaycee Kelln, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Perry has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season. As for Alva, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Chisholm the next time they take the court. Perry will host Chisholm at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Alva will host them at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
