Softball Recap: St. Monica Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact St. Monica can now relate to. They came up short against the Rio Hondo Prep Kares on Saturday, falling 16-6.

Katrina Olmedo was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple.

St. Monica has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for Rio Hondo Prep, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-5.

St. Monica does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rio Hondo Prep, they will face off against Katella at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Kares surely won't give up without a fight.
