Volleyball Recap: Fairbury Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Fairbury had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the Freeman Falcons on Thursday. The Jeffs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-15, 25-13.

Micah Friesen paced Fairbury's offense, picking up nine kills. Friesen got some help from Taryn Hinman and her 16 assists. Finally, Friesen was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Fairbury didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Wood River on the 30th. As for Freeman, they are taking a road trip to take on Sterling on Tuesday.
