It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Pinckneyville had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They blew past the Greenville Comets 52-27. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while the Comets are ranked 378th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pinckneyville's win bumped their record up to 21-10. As for Greenville, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-21.

Pinckneyville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-45 defeat against Carlyle on the 17th. Greenville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
