Baseball Recap: Dalhart Extends Winning Streak to Six

Dalhart barely beat Tulia the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolves were the clear victors by a 20-11 margin over the Hornets on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Wolves sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Kreed Hines made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his six plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Lil Bird and Talon Garcia did most of the damage at the plate: Bird went 2-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI, while Garcia went 2-for-5 with five runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. With that strong performance, Garcia is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game. Kaleb Speer also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Dalhart was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive games.

Dalhart's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-8. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Tulia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-9-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dalhart will challenge River Road at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Tulia, they will square off against Bushland at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
