Basketball Game Preview: Benton Panthers vs. El Dorado Wildcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Benton Panthers challenge the El Dorado Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday... El Dorado took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Benton, who comes in off a win.

Benton is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arkansas' top teams: Springdale, who was ranked second at the time (Benton was ranked 15th). Benton escaped with a win on Saturday against Springdale by the margin of a single free throw, 50-49. The 50-point effort marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, El Dorado ended up a good deal behind Nashville on Saturday and lost 78-59. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

El Dorado's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Benton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Everything came up roses for Benton against El Dorado in their previous matchup back in January, as the squad secured a 73-45 victory. Will Benton repeat their success, or does El Dorado have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
