Basketball Recap: Winona Comes Up Short

Winona lost to Mankato West back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Winhawks took a 65-50 bruising from the Scarlets. The Winhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Winona's loss dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Mankato West, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-14 record this season.

Winona and Mankato West could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings. The Winhawks (ranked 254th) will meet Austin (ranked 112th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mankato West will challenge Northfield at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (205 vs. 37).
