Basketball Recap: Goodwin Tech's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

After a string of three wins, Goodwin Tech's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 79-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kaynor RVT Panthers.

When it comes to explaining why Goodwin Tech lost, don't look at Nazir Russell. Despite the final result, he went 12 of 24 on his way to 42 points and five rebounds. Russell's evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amare Robinson, who posted 11 points and seven steals.

Goodwin Tech's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Kaynor RVT, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Goodwin Tech will host Vinal RVT at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kaynor RVT, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Kaynor RVT Panthers face off against the Bullard-Havens Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
