Football Game Preview: Elmore County Panthers vs. Central of Clay County Volunteers + How To Watch

Elmore County is 0-5 against Central of Clay County since September of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Panthers will take on the Volunteers at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Elmore County's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.

Last Friday, Elmore County was fully in charge, breezing past Beauregard 33-6. With that win, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 26.4 points per game.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Elmore County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gage Davis, who threw for 294 yards and five TDs, and also rushed for 34 yards. Those five passing touchdowns gave Davis a new career-high. Justin Brooks was another key player, picking up 122 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Elmore County's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, Central of Clay County waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They enjoyed a cozy 26-9 victory over the Wildcats.

Elmore County's record now sits at 4-1. As for Central of Clay County, their record is now 5-1.

Elmore County suffered a grim 29-7 defeat to Central of Clay County in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
