Softball Recap: Barstow Takes a Loss

Barstow blew Adelanto out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Adelanto got their revenge. Barstow fell just short of Adelanto by a score of 17-15. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Aztecs have suffered since March 21, 2024.

Madalyn Ayala and Elizibeth Arreola stepped up to the plate in a big way. Ayala fired off two home runs and six RBI while going 3-for-4, while Arreola went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four hits gave Arreola a new career-high. Reanna De La Rosa was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Barstow kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Barstow's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Adelanto, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Barstow will face off against rival Victor Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Adelanto is set to square off against their familiar foe Granite Hills at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
