Softball Recap: La Villa Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

La Villa had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They never let the Freer Buckaroos get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. For the Cardinals, this counts as revenge for the 9-4 victory the Buckaroos walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

La Villa's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Freer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as La Villa Cardinals face off against Edinburg North Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on March 19th. Freer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
