Basketball Game Preview: Sleepy Hollow Horsemen vs. Hendrick Hudson Sailors

Sleepy Hollow is 0-10 against Hendrick Hudson since February of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Sleepy Hollow Horsemen will face off against the Hendrick Hudson Sailors at 4:45 p.m.

Sleepy Hollow is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 48-27 to Ardsley. The Horsemen were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-9.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Cassie Junge, who posted six points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hendrick Hudson). They strolled past Ardsley with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 74-58. The win was nothing new for the Sailors as they're now sitting on four straight.

Sleepy Hollow better keep an eye on Kaitlyn Raguso. She was instrumental in Hendrick Hudson's win, dropping a triple-double on 31 points, 16 boards, and ten steals. With that strong performance, Raguso is now averaging an impressive 16.1 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla A McCarthy, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 16 points and five rebounds.

Hendrick Hudson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in seven consecutive contests.

Hendrick Hudson is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38.1 points. As for Sleepy Hollow, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.

Sleepy Hollow was dealt a bruising 61-26 loss at the hands of Hendrick Hudson in their previous matchup two weeks ago. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Sleepy Hollow was down 31-9.
