Softball Recap: Ardrey Kell Find Success

Ardrey Kell barely beat Mallard Creek the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Ardrey Kell Knights never let the Mallard Creek Mavericks get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Friday. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mavericks, too.

Carlin Scholz made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Scholz was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other pitching news, Amelia Hartley looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, Reagan Martin was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Janey Galek, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Ardrey Kell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mallard Creek only posted a batting average of .214.

Ardrey Kell's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Mallard Creek, they now also have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ardrey Kell will host Weddington at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mallard Creek, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Independence at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
