Basketball Game Preview: Mary Louis Academy Hilltoppers vs. Audenried

The Mary Louis Academy Hilltoppers will square off against Audenried at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Mary Louis Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Bishop Loughlin 74-41. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Hilltoppers just coasted through the last quarter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mary Louis Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Justine Henry, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds. Henry has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Simone Greaves, who posted 18 points and seven rebounds.

Mary Louis Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Audenried waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past Masterman 62-27. Given Audenried's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Masterman is ranked 346th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mary Louis Academy better keep an eye on Shayla Smith. She was instrumental in Audenried's win, going 14 for 20 en route to 31 points along with six boards and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Smith has scored at least a third of Audenried's points. Nasiaah Russell was another key player, putting up six points in addition to eight rebounds and four blocks.

Audenried's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. As for Mary Louis Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-5.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Mary Louis Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 56.6 points per game. However, it's not like Audenried struggles in that department as they've been averaging 69.5 points.
