Basketball Recap: Germantown Mavericks vs. Tupelo Golden Wave

On Tuesday, the Germantown Mavericks faced the Tupelo Golden Wave in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Germantown took down the Golden Wave 55-36. The win made it back-to-back wins for Germantown.

Alana Rouser continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Rouser is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Raegan Jordan, who scored 15 points along with seven assists.

Germantown pushed their record up to 17-9 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Tupelo, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Germantown will take on the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Murrah has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 28. As for Tupelo, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Starkville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully the Golden Wave like a good challenge.
