Basketball Recap: Sam Chapman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Quaker Valley over Beaver

After flying high against Aquinas Academy last Sunday, Quaker Valley came back down to earth. The Quaker Valley Quakers took a 53-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Beaver Bobcats on Tuesday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Quakers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-49 back in January.

Several Quakers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sam Chapman, who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Kolton Johnson, who put up eight points.

Quaker Valley's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Beaver, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-4.

Quaker Valley will square off against Central Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Central Valley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests. As for Beaver, they will venture away from home to take on Avonworth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
