Recap: Unity Christian Academy Phoenix vs. Grace Christian Academy Crusaders
The Unity Christian Academy Phoenix can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Monday. Everything went their way against Grace Christian Academy as Unity Christian Academy made off with a 80-60 win. Winning may never get old, but Unity Christian Academy sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Unity Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kenyun Mazique out in front who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Mazique also posted eight assists for the first time this season. Donovan O'Neil was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with six assists and two steals.
Grace Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sam Marquardt, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Bisping, who scored 11 points.
Grace Christian Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Unity Christian Academy pulled down nine offensive rebounds.
Unity Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. As for Grace Christian Academy, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.
Unity Christian Academy the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Islamic Foundation at 6:30 p.m. on January 18th. Islamic Foundation is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Grace Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Illinois Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Illinois Lutheran focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Wednesday.
