Baseball Game Preview: Tallwood Lions vs. Cox Falcons

Tallwood is 0-10 against Cox since April of 2018 but things could change on Wednesday. The Lions will host the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Tallwood didn't have quite enough to beat Princess Anne and fell 4-3.

Carson Taylor was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Taylor wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ben Thomas, who went 3-for-4 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Thomas has hit this season.

Meanwhile, Cox faced Great Bridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Falcons lost 13-3 to the Wildcats. The Falcons' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Tallwood's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Cox, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-3.
