Basketball Recap: Gilmer Victorious

Gilmer lost to Cooper back in November of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Buckeyes came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 38-31.

Cooper lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kelci Sonntag, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Laney Trapp, who earned six points.

Gilmer's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Cooper, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gilmer will square off against Sulphur Springs at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cooper, they will challenge Rivercrest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
