Basketball Game Preview: Woodland Beavers vs. Ridgefield Spudders

The Woodland Beavers are taking a road trip to square off against the Ridgefield Spudders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Woodland is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Columbia River on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Woodland had to suffer through a 87-22 loss at the hands of Columbia River. While losing is never fun, the Beavers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 304th, while the Rapids are ranked 48th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ridgefield). They took their game on Wednesday with ease, bagging an 84-36 victory over Hudson's Bay. The Spudders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 20 points or more this season.

Ridgefield's record is now 9-4. As for Woodland, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

Woodland was dealt a bruising 69-33 defeat at the hands of Ridgefield when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Woodland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
