Softball Recap: Breckenridge Buckaroos vs. Early Longhorns

Breckenridge was the 10-4 winner over Early when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Breckenridge Buckaroos fell just short of the Early Longhorns by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Buckaroos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Olyvia Perez put in work no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Perez wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ally Reyes, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Even though they lost, Breckenridge hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Early struck out 11 times.
