Baseball Recap: Biggsville West Central Takes a Loss

Biggsville West Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 9-1 to the Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 on Tuesday.

Biggsville West Central got a good showing from Eli Vancil, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Biggsville West Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Todd, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Biggsville West Central's defeat dropped their record down to 6-23. As for Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge], their win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-13.

As for Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge], they will venture away from home to square off against Mercer County at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.66 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
