Basketball Recap: Butte Central Catholic Comes Up Short

After flying high against Corvallis last Saturday, Butte Central Catholic came back down to earth. The Butte Central Catholic Maroons fell 71-59 to the East Helena Vigilantes on Tuesday. The Maroons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vigilantes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Butte Central Catholic has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for East Helena, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Butte Central Catholic will challenge Stevensville at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for East Helena, they will venture away from home to face off against Laurel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in East Helena's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matchups.
