Overhills hadn't done well against Pine Forest recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Jaguars came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 3-1. The victory was some much needed relief for the Jaguars as it spelled an end to their four-match losing streak.

The win didn't come easy: Pine Forest scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 15-25, 25-18, 25-18.

Ally Williams paced Overhills' offense, picking up 24 kills. Williams got some help from Sophia Singh and her 30 assists. Nikirra Williams controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Overhills' victory bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Pine Forest, their loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-20.

Coming up, Overhills will face off against New Bern at 7:00 p.m. on the 18th. As for Pine Forest, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Cape Fear on the 14th.
