Football Recap: Manitou Springs Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Manitou Springs had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-9 to make it six. They took a blow against the Banning Lewis Academy Stallions, falling 45-8. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

Kaden Bunker threw for 53 yards on five of 20 attempts. Cooper Frojen was his top target, picking up 47 receiving yards. On the ground, Layton Little rushed for 64 yards.

As for Banning Lewis Academy, they moved to 4-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Among those leading the charge was Sam Early, who threw for 264 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Banning Lewis Academy's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Jones, who picked up 121 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
