Football Game Preview: South Sevier Rams vs. Rich Rebels

Two dominant signal callers in Bridger Bradshaw and Jett Holmes are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The South Sevier Rams will head out to challenge the Rich Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Sevier knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Rich likes a good challenge.

On Friday, South Sevier got the win against Emery by a conclusive 41-21. Fans of the Rams have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

South Sevier's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hudson Flinders, who picked up 99 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 53 yards. Flinders really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 77 yards. Masen Healey was another key rusher, rushing for 72 yards and a pair of TDs.

Meanwhile, Rich is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Grace. The Rebels were just a hair shy of victory and fell 37-36 to the Grizzlies. The Rebels' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

South Sevier will have to contain Wilkes Weston as he made an impact in Rich's last game. He rushed for 175 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry.

South Sevier pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 33 points thus far. As for Rich, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-2.

South Sevier beat Rich 35-27 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
