Baseball Game Preview: Canisius Crusaders vs. St. Francis Red Raiders

For the second straight game, Canisius will face off against St. Francis. The Crusaders will square off against the Red Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Canisius barely beat St. Francis the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Crusaders put the hurt on the Red Raiders with a sharp 10-4 win on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Red Raiders: they've now won three in a row.

Canisius got a great performance from Josh Kandefer as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Kandefer also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Crusaders are undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-9 otherwise.

At the plate, David Cloyd was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Nick Scime was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Canisius kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 6-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

St. Francis' defeat dropped their record down to 5-13-1. As for Canisius, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.

St. Francis' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Canisius hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325.
