Recap: Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines vs. Tri County Trojans

The Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 44-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tri County on Thursday. Wilber-Clatonia has struggled against Tri County recently, as their contest on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Wilber-Clatonia's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Zajicek, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Grant Kuhlmann, who scored 10 points.

Tri County found their leader in underclassman Drew Siems, who scored 21 points. Caden Bales was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 6 rebounds.

Wilber-Clatonia's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Tri County, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.

Wilber-Clatonia won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Heartland at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. Hopefully Heartland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday.
