Softball Recap: Northridge Knights vs. Box Elder Bees
Wednesday just wasn't the day for Northridge's offense. They lost 10-0 to the Box Elder Bees on Wednesday. Northridge has not had much luck with Box Elder recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Northridge saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was MaKaybree Nay, who went 1-for-3 with a double.
On Box Elder's side, Kennadie Blackmer made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Blackmer was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, and a double.
In other batting news, Kailee Hall was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last four games she's played.
Northridge's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Box Elder, their win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-4.
Northridge will be playing at home against Woods Cross at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Box Elder, they will head out on the road to take on Bonneville at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The pair have allowed few runs on average, (Bonneville: 4, Box Elder: 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
