Volleyball Recap: Pine Forest Comes Up Short

Pine Forest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 3-1 to the Pinecrest Patriots. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2015.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 22-25, 25-15, 25-23.

Taylor Route paced Pine Forest's offense, picking up 11 kills. Route got some help from Aria Parish and her 27 assists. Hayden Lake and Danyaris Torres-Cintron kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Leading Pinecrest to victory were Reece Baldwin and Emily Regtuyt. Baldwin had six digs and two aces, while Regtuyt had 15 kills and 11 digs. That's the most kills Regtuyt has posted over her last six matchups.

Pine Forest's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Pinecrest, their win ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8.

Pine Forest didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Jack Britt on the 18th. As for Pinecrest, they have also already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Hoke County on the 18th.
