Softball Recap: North Sanpete Extends Winning Streak to Three

North Sanpete won against Richfield on Thursday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Hawks beat the Canyon View Falcons by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The victory was nothing new for the Hawks as they're now sitting on three straight.

Shea Rawlinson spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Rylee Stewart and Brooklyn Larson did most of the damage at the plate: Stewart went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Larson went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most hits Larson has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Alivia Madsen, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

North Sanpete was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

North Sanpete pushed their record up to 15-11 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Canyon View, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-19.

North Sanpete has already played their next game (against Maple Mountain), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Canyon View, they will head out on the road to face off against Richfield at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.54 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of.
