Baseball Recap: Morse's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Morse extended their winning streak to five on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 5-3 in the process. They skirted past the Leavitt Hornets 10-8. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Shipbuilders considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Edward Delano was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Wells, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Morse was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Leavitt only posted a batting average of .200.

As for Leavitt, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for they, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

On Leavitt's side, Trent Holst was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Holst has become a key player for the Hornets: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-4 otherwise. John Oliver also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Morse will have a chance to go back-to-back against Leavitt: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
