Basketball Recap: Monterey Bay Academy Find Success

On Thursday, Monterey Bay Academy were able to grind out a solid victory over the Kirby Prep Griffins, taking the game 54-47.

Kirby Prep's loss came despite strong showings from Chris Lively and Rain Li. Lively posted 23 points, while Li scored 14 points. With that strong performance, Lively is now averaging an impressive 16.3 points per game.

Monterey Bay Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Kirby Prep, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Monterey Bay Academy will face off against Ceiba College Preparatory Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Kirby Prep, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-30 loss against York on the 10th.
