Basketball Recap: Nashwauk-Keewatin Takes a Loss

Nashwauk-Keewatin played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Cromwell Cardinals, falling 86-33. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Leading Cromwell to victory were Dylan Nyberg and Brady Dahl. Nyberg went 9-for-21 en route to 21 points and eight rebounds, while Dahl shot 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double with 22 points and 11 boards. What's more, Dahl also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in January of 2024. Drew Nyberg was another key player, shooting 67% from the field to rack up 14 points.

Nashwauk-Keewatin's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Cromwell, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-7.

Nashwauk-Keewatin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cromwell, they will be playing at home against Cook County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cromwell knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 matchups -- so hopefully Cook County likes a good challenge.
