Basketball Recap: Redeemer Christian Lions vs. First Assembly Christian Academy Eagles
Redeemer Christian lost against First Assembly Christian Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lions fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 44-41. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Redeemer Christian still got an impressive performance from Jackson LaFirst, who shot 56% from the field on his way to 14 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zechariah Eldridge, who posted two points in addition to nine rebounds and three steals.
First Assembly Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mason Burke out in front who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine boards. That's the most rebounds Burke has posted since back in January. BJ Paige was another key player, going 5-for-8 en route to 10 points and three steals.
Redeemer Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for First Assembly Christian Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Redeemer Christian has already played their next contest (against Riverside Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for First Assembly Christian Academy, they will take on Gainesville Christian Community at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. This will be the Eagles' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
