Baseball Game Preview: Hoover Huskies vs. Nicholas County Grizzlies

The Hoover Huskies will venture away from home to take on the Nicholas County Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Monday, Hoover narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Sissonville 4-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Huskies.

Jayden Ledsome was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Nicholas County came out on top against Woodrow Wilson on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Grizzlies took their game against the Flying Eagles 8-3. The victory continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their matchups with the Flying Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Nicholas County got a massive performance out of Caleb Burns, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one triple. Burns has become a key player for the Grizzlies: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 5-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Coleton Hellems, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Nicholas County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive contests.

Nicholas County's record now sits at 8-6. As for Hoover, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Everything went Hoover's way against Nicholas County in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Hoover made off with a 10-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
