Recap: McKinley Tech Trainers vs. St. Anselm's Abbey Panthers
The McKinley Tech Trainers can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They claimed a resounding 60-25 win over St. Anselm's Abbey on the road. Given McKinley Tech's advantage in MaxPreps' District of Columbia basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while St. Anselm's Abbey is ranked 254th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for DaMontae Neclos, who scored 23 points. Ethan Benning was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
The victory (which was McKinley Tech's fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for St. Anselm's Abbey, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.
McKinley Tech will head out on the road to face off against Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while McKinley Tech has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. St. Anselm's Abbey will take on Model Secondary School for the Deaf at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
