Softball Recap: Austin Takes a Loss

Austin was the 5-4 winner over Chelsea when they last played one another back in April of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Black Bears fell 8-3 to the Hornets on Friday. The Black Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Arden Breedlove and Khalilah Mason did some serious damage despite the final result: Breedlove went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Mason went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Charlie Barnes was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Austin's loss dropped their record down to 29-17. As for Chelsea, their win bumped their record up to 23-16-2.

Austin has already played their next game, a 9-2 defeat against White Plains on the 25th. As for Chelsea, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-3 victory against West Blocton on the 24th.
