Basketball Recap: Lizzie Barta and Madisyn Grzebielski Secure Win for Mercy

Mercy won the last time they faced Louisville and things went their way on Saturday too. The Mercy Monarchs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Louisville Lions, sneaking past 36-34. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Monarchs.

Mercy was led to victory by Madisyn Grzebielski and Lizzie Barta. Grzebielski posted eight points and seven rebounds, while Barta scored ten points. Those ten points gave Barta a new career-high.

Mercy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Mercy's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Louisville, they dropped their record down to 5-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Mercy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 56-32 victory against Lincoln Lutheran on the 14th. Louisville has also already played their next game, a 51-33 loss against Fort Calhoun on the 14th.
