Terry Sanford had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 45 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. They took down the Westover Wolverines 52-37. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Wolverines are ranked 129th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Terry Sanford's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amya Harrington led the charge by dropping a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards. Thanks to that strong game, Harrington now owns an excellent 45.1% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Ameya Brown, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 14 points.

Terry Sanford smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.

Westover's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ja'Naisha Carney, who posted 13 points. Tytiana Dowden was another key player, putting up 12 points and eight rebounds.

Terry Sanford's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.8 points over those games. As for Westover, their record is now 16-11.

Terry Sanford and Westover are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Terry Sanford will face off against West Johnston at 6:00 p.m. on February 25th. Terry Sanford is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.7 points per game this season. As for Westover, they will challenge C.B. Aycock at 6:00 p.m. on February 25th. C.B. Aycock will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Westover surely won't give up without a fight.
