Basketball Recap: Fremont Comes Up Short on the Road Against Syracuse

Fremont had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Syracuse Titans by a score of 60-57 on Wednesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Fremont lost, don't look at Cam Campbell. Despite the final result, he shot 61% from the field on his way to 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Hansen, who posted 16 points and five assists.

Colton Hoenigman was nothing short of spectacular for Syracuse: he went 9-for-14 en route to 28 points and four steals. Those 28 points gave Hoenigman a new career-high. Carter Robinson was another key player, putting up 22 points.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Fremont will venture away from home to take on Cyprus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Syracuse, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Pleasant Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
