Basketball Recap: Northside Skates Past Brookwood with Ease

Northside entered their tilt with Brookwood on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They really took it to the Panthers for the full four quarters, racking up a 60-16 win. With the Rams ahead 33-8 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Northside found their leader in sophomore Kamryn Knowles, who shot 60% from beyond the arc on her way to 24 points and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Knowles has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Caroline Jones, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 13 boards.

Northside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 16 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Northside's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Brookwood, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Coming up, Northside will head out on the road to take on Gordo at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brookwood, they will be home for the holidays to greet Northridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Jaguars have now posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
