Baseball Recap: Compton Takes a Loss

Compton was the 19-5 winner over Whitney when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Compton Tarbabes fell just short of the Whitney Wildcats by a score of 5-4 on Monday. The Tarbabes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Compton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aaron Elias, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Another was Eric Vera, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Compton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2-1. As for Whitney, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Compton will take on Lakewood at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lakewood's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Compton's hitters will have their work cut out for them. We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up.
