Volleyball Recap: Calvary Christian Wins Going Away Against Cardinal Mooney

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Calvary Christian and Cardinal Mooney meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cougars. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

One reason for the win was Calvary Christian's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-18, 25-11.

Olivia Badyna had a dynamite game, getting 24 digs and one assist. She has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last five times she's played. Sam Karjala also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Calvary Christian's win bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Cardinal Mooney, the loss snapped their winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 6-6 record.

Calvary Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Carrollwood Day on the 18th. As for Cardinal Mooney, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Sarasota on the 19th.
