Football Recap: Florence Takes a Loss

Florence had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-3 to make it four. They were dealt a 52-0 loss at the hands of the Wabeno/Laona Rebels. Having soared to a lofty 38 points in the game before, the Bobcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Wabeno/Laona, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Those 52 points were actually the fewest they have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Cooper Albrecht was his usual excellent self, throwing for 180 yards and four TDs, while also rushing for 61 yards and a pair of scores. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making five total tackles in addition to snagging an interception. Another player making a difference was Reegan Roy, who picked up 57 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Florence has already played their next matchup, a 62-34 win against Wausaukee on the 26th. As for Wabeno/Laona, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 52-6 victory against Three Lakes on the 26th.
