Volleyball Preview: Aspen Skiers vs. Basalt Longhorns
Aspen and Basalt are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2019, but not for long. The Aspen Skiers are taking a road trip to square off against the Basalt Longhorns at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, Aspen came up short against Cedaredge and fell 3-1. The Skiers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Basalt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Steamboat Springs.
Basalt took a 1-1 lead headed into the third set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 27-25, 20-25, 25-11, 25-22.
Aspen now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Basalt, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Aspen was able to grind out a solid win over Basalt in their previous matchup back in October of 2023, winning 3-1. Does Aspen have another victory up their sleeve, or will Basalt turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
